When Brett Goldstein, Jason Segel , and Bill Lawrence were asked how they got Harrison Ford to be in the show, Segel said that Goldstein originally wanted a "Harrison Ford type," and was going to audition people similar to Ford.
Segel told Goldstein they had to at least bring it to Ford first, thinking he would turn it down immediately, but at least other people would hear that Harrison Ford had brought the project, generating interest from other notable actors. In the end, Goldstein talked to Ford and sold him on the role. Goldstein still doesn’t understand what he did to convince him, but was elated nonetheless..
Harrison Ford is simply amazing in this show! His curmudgeon demeanor and sharp tongue is now my life goal when I reach my elder years. He’s hysterical and I need more of this in my life!!!
Also, if you’re a fan of Jason Segel, you will not be disappointed. It has well-rounded characters dealing with real issues. It brings all the feels and leaves you wanting more each week.
In the vein of Ted Lasso, it feels like a warm hug. I can’t wait for season 2! You will be so happily surprised and glad you took the journey.

Charles, a pensioner, gets a new lease on life when he answers a private detective’s ad and becomes a mole in a secret investigation at a nursing home. Based on the Chilean documentary “El Agente Topo”. Remake of “El agente topo” (2020). I’m not a series fan who constantly watches the whole season, but we watched the whole season on the first night. It has just the right mix of warm, funny, sad and profound with a plot that keeps you hooked. Ted Danson is great, of course, but Stephanie Beatriz (Diaz in 1999) is fantastic and her character is someone you’d love to spend all your time with. The series is set in San Francisco, which of course benefits my rating, but above all, although it is very sad at times, it is a comedy and gives you hope for the future as we all get a little older. A solid eight out of ten from me, a series for all ages and who knows, hopefully another season.

The lush and awe-inspiring beauty of the Alps, shot with painterly grace under natural light from winter to redemptive spring, is Maura Delpero’s visionary film, which won the Silver Lion at the 2024 Venice Film Festival. Set in the small mountain village of Vermiglio during the waning days of WWII, this singular portrait of an extended family follows a dramatic, consequential series of events following the arrival of a quiet Sicilian soldier (Giuseppe Di Domenico) in hiding. The town after the army deserts. While there, the soldier develops a romantic relationship with the family’s eldest daughter, Lucia (Martina Scrinzi). Vermiglio follows the life of a provincial family in a remote village suspended in time by the customs of a fading era. Drawing on stories from her own family’s past, Delpero creates a deeply personal and human story that recalls the great neorealist movement in Italian cinema, but through Lucia’s perspective, ‘Vermiglio’ feels different and novel.

In “The Day of the Jackal” (1973), the Jackal also drives a white Alfa Romeo, despite an earlier model. Mentioned in “Graham Norton and Guests”: Denzel Washington/Paul Mescal/Sirsha Ronan/Eddie Redmayne/Blossoms (2024). He has a vulnerability that just makes me want to dig deeper into the characters.
Here, as a cold-blooded killer, it’s a stretch, IMHO, but it makes sense as “hiding in plain sight”. As others have already noted, the main character just ruined everything for me. Why she continues to get female cool roles is a mystery to me.
We have so many other talented actors to choose from. I didn’t think much of her in Captain Marvel, I liked her even less when she was 007, and now she just ruins walls every time she appears. Her character does not help her in this matter either.
it’s so sad that this series will not be rewatched. I don’t know yet how the story will develop, but I hope that Bianca’s character will change somehow.
