A series commitment was originally set up with CBS for 2020, but it was canceled shortly before the first episode was filmed due to COVID. . Now it’s been picked up by Netflix for a 10-episode first season based on Mickey Haller’s second book, The Brass Verdict.
In California, personalized plates can have a maximum of seven letters/numbers, but all Mickey plates have a minimum of eight. For those of us who love lawyer/police/detective stories, this was perfect. I couldn’t stop watching and really wanted to give it an even better star rating…
(I can go back and change it, but I’m generally stingy in this area). In general, everything I' #39; read or seen by Michael Connelly, it was very good. I can’t wait for more episodes of Lincoln Lawyer.

When the vast Lawson cattle station fails to produce an heir, Australia’s rival factions see a chance to seize control. The series was filmed in the Northern Territory and South Australia in locations so remote they are barely inhabited – let alone shown on screen. Locations include the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Kakadu National Park – with special permission from the Traditional Owners – and Tipperary Station, a real, working cattle station that is so large it has its own airfield and school.
There are shows that you start watching and have high hopes. This one is about a family who owns a large amount of land in the Oz countryside. The land and its charisma are unfortunately ruined by some extremely poor writing.
It’s overly dramatic, has characters who are almost caricatures and there are a lot of completely unbelievable things happening. While as a viewer you want to be drawn into a story about a family that has characters with depth and complexity. They try to do that, but the characters fail to form a family that you can relate to.
So I really wanted to like this, but the writers made it a second-rate cop show that, despite some great actors, doesn’t deserve a high rating. However, I will hold out hope for a second season if they tone down the drama and violence a lot and let some smart people write it. There is a foundation with the setting and a good cast that they can build on.

David Yeung is the son of Bolo Yeung, who played the antagonist Chong Li in Bloodsport (1988), which was the main inspiration for The Last Kumite (2024).
Of course, it’s not a 100% clean, perfect film, due to the budget, but that’s not actually a problem because they cover it up well enough that it’s till very enjoyable, so power to them.
The music…I can’t even tell you how good the music is in this film, Stan Bush did amazing despite his age.
Kurt Mckinney did great, I feel like there could have been a better main role actor than Mathis Landwher, but he wasn’t too bad.
The fights remind me of a lot of early 2000’s martial arts movies fights due to them being very acrobatic and fast like Undisputed and Ong Bak.

"As an audience, you're not really sympathizing with him.
You’re more sort of watching it, you know, from the outside.". In many episodes there is a 3M Command(TM) strip shown in Jeffery Dahmer’s apartment kitchen, this takes place in 1991 by the latest. 3M debuted its first wave of Command(TM) products in 1996..
This is a solid true crime show with brilliant acting. It’s exciting to see the horrible story of JD staged so carefully. Would have been an 8 but the last two episodes focus too much on JDs neighbor Glenda Cleveland.
She certainly suffered a lot when JDs crimes were discovered but 15 people had been killed whose friends and families certainly suffered a lot more. I think those people deserve more attention than a lady that indeed did a good job but was not involved in the matter so much. That’s why the last episodes are a little bit slow moving.
